My first-ever solo getaway, celebrating my 31st birthday on the 31st of October, which also happened to be Halloween, made this birthday extra memorable! I truly appreciate the little details, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful gestures that make a stay memorable. My experience at Avani was filled with all of that and more. A big thank you to Dananjaya from Reservations for making the booking process smooth and clear. Thanuja from Front Office was very pleasant and accommodating, while Prasad from Concierge was also incredibly helpful. The room was lovely, clean, and peaceful, with a beautiful view. I absolutely loved the bath amenities and their fragrances! The evening was equally enjoyable, with music creating a lovely atmosphere to unwind, dance, and have fun. A special shout-out to Sithum and Ravindu, the lifeguards, who made sure I never felt lonely! They were always friendly, approachable, and ready to help, even when I wanted to head down to the beach. Their genuine warmth and willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference. The resort offers plenty of leisure activities, including a library, carrom, volleyball, and a vendor shop. There are so many lovely spots to relax, from the swing chairs to the sunbeds by the pool and beach. The sunset view is an absolute must-see! I also had the pleasure of experiencing the spa, which is a shared facility with Anantara Kalutara. Dilana was wonderful in helping me choose the right treatment, and my therapist, Jyoti, was incredibly kind and skilled. I opted for the Kalutara Spice Journey, which included a full-body massage and scrub. It was absolutely amazing! The scrub paste, made with Sri Lankan herbs and spices such as cinnamon and cloves, was such a beautiful touch. It was truly a relaxing and memorable spa experience. The staff throughout the resort were attentive, friendly, and prompt in their service. As a solo traveller, I felt safe, comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. Avani is definitely worth considering, not only for an overnight stay but also for a day out. Thank you, Avani Kalutara, for making my first solo birthday getaway so special. I left with beautiful memories and would happily return!
