Amsterdam has some of the best museums in the world. Start at the Rijksmuseum for Rembrandt and Vermeer, then the Van Gogh Museum for…well, Van Gogh! Modern art fans can get their fill of de Kooning, Mondriaan and Kandinsky at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, also just down the road.

Hop on the metro to visit the impressive Royal Palace on Dam Square, then wander over to the Anne Frank House. Closer to the hotel, the Concertgebouw hosts world-class performances, and no trip to Amsterdam is complete without beer tasting at the Heineken brewery.

There’s something magical about wandering along Amsterdam’s canals and admiring all the different canal and boat houses. Make your way to the 9 Straatjes, the innermost ring of canals, and step back in time.

What’s a holiday without a bit of shopping? Nearby P. C. Hooftstraat is where the rich and famous go for all the big and ritzy fashion houses.

Just across the canal from us, the boho neighbourhood of De Pijp is where locals come to eat, drink and chill. Explore its dozens of restaurants, terrace bars and the famous Albert Cuypmarkt.
