Sustainability

At Avani Deira Dubai Hotel, we are dedicated to caring for the environment that supports our business and community.  We embrace sustainability at every step and proudly comply with all environmental laws and initiatives led by the Dubai government.  

We report environment performance through the Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Carbon Calculator on a regular frequency to measure the carbon footprint of Dubai's hospitality sector.   The DST Carbon Calculator is in support to the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative, a national drive aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. 

New team members are oriented and introduced to the significance of protecting the environment, our sustainability programs, and how they can play a part in these efforts.  Regular trainings are held to keep staff informed about the hotel’s sustainability efforts and initiatives. 

All employees are encouraged to participate in sustainable activities initiated by government and private institutions in the community. 

The Hotel has installed LED Lighting in all its corridors and rooms, saving 50% less energy that traditional lighting.   Motion sensors have also been installed in low traffic areas such as the Basement, and some areas in the staff lockers.  Our energy consumption is monitored regularly to reduce consumption where possible. 

Sensors have been installed in all public restrooms at Avani Deira Dubai to reduce unnecessary water usage.   We keep a close check on our water consumption to reduce usage responsibly.

At Avani Deira Dubai, we bottle our own filtered water in refillable glass bottles for all our guest rooms and served in our restaurants—completely removing the need for plastic bottles. We also use paper straws, cups, and boxes to further cut down on single-use plastics.

Avani Deira Dubai have placed waste segregation and recycling bins in the back-office areas on each floor, and its employees actively practice waste segregation during daily operations.   We regularly monitor waste segregation and recycling performance using data provided by our third-party waste management company.  

As part of our Purchasing Management Plan, we source products responsibly, prioritizing locally produced food items and environmentally friendly goods whenever possible, while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel. 

We actively support sustainability through social, community, and environmental initiatives, including beach clean-ups, tree planting, blood donation drives, and the collection of recyclables, engaging both our employees and, where possible, our guests.
