Tribe Talks with Laura Bartlett
In our first Avani Tribes interview, we’re speaking to the founder and editor of House of Coco Magazine, Laura Bartlett. A global inspirational speaker known for her advocacy in body positivity and entrepreneurship, Laura is a true embodiment of passion and authenticity.
As a member of the Wellness Wanderer tribe, Laura embraced the city’s charm while indulging in her passion for wellbeing. Her stay at Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel perfectly blended relaxation and exploration, showcasing how even an entrepreneur can always find time to look after their physical and emotional wellness, wherever they go.
As part of the Wellness Wanderer tribe, what specific activity or feature at Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam stood out to you and why?
Having access to the bikes that the hotel offers was such a fun activity. I loved having the freedom to explore on two wheels every day and revisiting all of my favourite local parks and coffee shops. It was such a freeing experience to be able to get around the city so easily, and I very quickly started to feel like a local.
What was the highlight of your stay at Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam? How did the hotel's unique offerings enhance your tribe experience?
The highlight of my stay was definitely the view from my room. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the city, but the perfect end to each day was watching the jaw-dropping sunset from the comfort of my bed. It was truly magical, and the reason why I slept with the blinds open for the entire stay—I didn’t want to miss a single second from sunrise to sunset.
Do you have a memorable photo from your trip that you'd like to share? What’s the story behind it, and how does it reflect your experience as a Wellness Wanderer?
This photo of me sitting beside the canals during my SUP session is memorable because it captures such a beautiful moment. It was so calm, with boats going past and the water glistening. I felt really at peace there, and there’s nothing that screams wellness more than that. People were passing by on their boats, waving and having a jolly old time. It was such a good vibe; I could have happily sat there watching the world go by all day long.
What tips or recommendations would you give to fellow Wellness Wanderer tribe members planning a stay at Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam? What should they definitely not miss?
Definitely utilise the bikes—it’s so fun getting around Amsterdam on two wheels. If that’s not enough of a heart-racing adventure, then a visit to the hotel’s underground gym is a must. It’s super funky and has all the modern workout machines you’d expect in a hotel of this calibre. So, get ready to put yourself through your paces.
