Silat and the Supervisor: Eddey Hafiszan's Dual Mastery
From Legacy to Master
It all began with his grandfather, Pendekar Bidin, who handed down the art of Silat Kampung, also known as Silat Pulut. It was the making of a maestro. Eddey’s keeping the family legacy alive, and he’s kicking it into high gear, one epic move at a time.
During the day, Eddey keeps the resort humming, managing a team that handles everything from high-energy team building to overseeing the tranquillity of the pool area. Come VIP visits or special events, he’s front and centre, welcoming guests with the swift moves of Silat, threading cultural pride with hospitality.
Outside the resort’s hustle, Eddey’s home backyard transforms into a dojo. Since the age of 36, he’s been mentoring the next generation of Silat warriors. With over 250 students and counting, 10 of whom have levelled up to trainers, Eddey’s backyard lessons are an incubator for future masters.
A Vision for Tomorrow
Eddey’s playing the long game — his toddler is next in line to inherit the Silat legacy. In a way, he's planting the seeds for the future, ensuring that Silat thrives in the modern era. Beyond just learners, he sees his students as keepers of the flame, charged with carrying Silat into the future.
For Eddey, Silat is a holistic lifestyle. His classes are crash courses in life itself, sharpening the mind as they strengthen the body. It’s fitness with a side of philosophy, perfect for anyone looking to upgrade their physical and mental game.
